The Glass Sellers' Music Prize

harpist from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama

The Glass Sellers Company has been proud to be associated, for many years, with the development of young musicians and singers at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.  The Glass Sellers' Music Prize is given to the runner-up in the school's Annual Gold Medal Music Competition.

The 2003 competition was held on May 12th at the Barbican Concert Hall.  The panel of Adjudicators included Alderman (and Liveryman) Dr Andrew Parmley, there in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Guildhall School.

The Gold Medal was awarded to Susanna Andersson, a Swedish soprano of extraordinary ability and the Glass Sellers’ Prize went to the only male finalist – José Aparicio, a talented tenor from Spain. Commit his name to your memory; he clearly has a brilliant career ahead of him...
