British Glass Biennale - Call for Entries
This year the UK’s premiere selling exhibition of contemporary glass has £14,000 in prize money to be won alongside its growing international status as the leading showcase for British based makers.
The Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers is delighted to be working in association with the British Glass Biennale this year to offer three prizes, with a student section incorporated for the first time. The British Glass Biennale Award is increased to £8000 for the ‘best in show’; the Glass Sellers Award is worth £5000 and the Glass Sellers Student Award of £1000. Superyacht Mirabella V - winner of the Glass Sellers Company Technology Award 2006
This year’s Technology Award salutes a man with the courage, vision, and tenacity to build the largest yacht in the world from glass fibre. The man is American Joe Vittoria, the yacht is the extraordinary Mirabella V.
The 2006 Ravenscroft Lecture was given by the Antiques Roadshow's Henry Sandon. To say "thank you" the Company arranged for Henry to receive the Freedom of the City of London. Henry is photographed with the Officers of the Company at The Guildhall.
