Glass Sellers' Art & Craft Award 2017
Once again the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers of London were delighted to work with the British Glass Biennale to award our 2017 Art & Craft Award. The awards were presented at the Private View on 24 August.
The winners were selected from work by 63 contemporary artists, including British makers living and working abroad who were featured in the exhibition for the first time this year.

The Glass Sellers’ Art & Craft Award is one of the major awards made by the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers Charity Fund. The Company has worked in association with the British Glass Biennale since 2008 to offer four prizes, with a student section incorporated. The Glass Sellers Art & Craft Award is worth £2500 with a Runner up of £1000 and the Glass Sellers Art & Craft Student Award of £1000 with Runner up of £500.
The winner in each category (and his or her partner) will be invited to attend the Glass Sellers annual banquet at the Mansion House in late October.
The British Glass Biennale is the UK’s leading exhibition of excellence in contemporary glass by British artists, designers and craftspeople. It is the flagship show within the International Festival of Glass. With an expert jury and an open call to artists, the British Glass Biennale is one of the most significant statements of national glass talent. The emphasis is on new work demonstrating the highest level of excellence in design, creative imagination and technical skill. All work is available for purchase and attracts collectors, galleries and museums from around the world.
