Glass Sellers' Beethoven Piano Prize 2017
Once again, the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers Charity was delighted to support the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, third annual Glass Sellers’ Beethoven Piano Competition on Monday 20th November 2017 in the Milton Court Concert Hall,
This year’s winner was Joon Yoon for a superlative performance of Sonata No 18 Op31 No 3 in E-flat minor. The Glass Sellers’ Company, through our charity, awards the prize each year to a Guildhall School pianist who performs the most stylistic and engaging performance of a Beethoven sonata.
Joon Yoon, who is from South Korea, is an Artist Diploma candidate in Instrumental Studies under Ronan O’Hora. He made his solo recital debut at the age of 12 in Korea, and his concerto debut at the age of 13 in the U.S. He is an avid solo and chamber musician, and performs a wide range of repertoire from Bach to Brahms to Carter. Joon finished his Bachelor and Master of Music studies at the Juilliard School and the Yale School of Music with full tuition scholarships.
The Glass Sellers Company continues its association and support with the Guildhall School of Music and is committed to supporting talented young musicians.
