Plans for this year’s Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers Annual Concert are under way. This year the concert will move to St James Garlickhythe – the Glass Sellers Church and scheduled for Thursday 8th October 2020. (Note for your Diary)
Principle Artist will be the Guildhall School of Music, Glass Sellers Beethoven Piano Prize Winner 2019 (Charles) Chun Him Tam from Hong Kong who is studying Guildhall Artist Masters – Performance (AIS Piano) at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Chun Him Graduated in 2017 at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor Degree of Music. Majored in Piano Performance with Professor Ronan O’Hora, Carole Presland, Professor Gabriel Kwok and Professor Raymond Young. Also minored fortepiano with Dr Shane Levesque, minored conducting with Mr. Alan Cumberland and Dr Sharon Andrea Choa. He was awarded LTCL in Piano Performance with distinction at the age of 14.
Chun Him has been one of the most active pianists in Hong Kong. He was invited by the Hong Kong Art Festival to give an All Rachmaninoff programmed piano recital in February 2018.He performed the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.1 with Andrew Mogrelia and the HKAPA Academy Orchestra.
He was invited by the Vienna Boys Choir to take part in ‘All Beethoven Sonatas’ series with other pianists from Hong Kong and Vienna in the Vienna Music Festival in 2016.
He has given performances in Malaysia, St. Petersburg, Salzburg, Vienna, Hong Kong, Macau, Shantou and Netherlands. He has participated in many masterclasses with Aquiles Delle-Vigne, Ronan O’Hora, Lea Agmon, Manfred Fock, Christopher Elton, Peter Donohoe, Rebecca Penneys and Dang Thai Son.
Chun Him has achieved many awards in different competitions.
