Glass Sellers Award
You’d really have to be a teacher to fully understand the day-to-day challenges that are being faced in schools, especially now with this extraordinary time of the Corona Virus Pandemic. Assessing need and vulnerability – providing support both to children and parents as they face numerous hardships and dilemmas. The Glass Sellers Charity Fund through its Glass in Society project was delighted to engage with the Brook Special Needs School and learn about how they are coping.
This was a sponsor’s dinner held on the Isle of Wight December 5th, 2006. to celebrate the first year of the Glass in Society project which ran for four years on the island involving 18 schools, until the local council decided to do away with Middle Schools which is where technology blossomed.
As we launch a new Series highlighting stories of some of the Glass Sellers Musicians. The Company awards the First Prize Annually to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Glass Sellers Beethoven Piano Prize. In 2017 the prize was won by Joon Yoon who later went on in 2018 to be one of the finalists and winner of the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Gold Medal Competition 2018. In the October 2018 Joon Yoon performed in the Glass Sellers Concert 2018, Grosvenor Chapel, Mayfair, which has now become an Annual Concert and fund raiser for the Glass Sellers Charity Fund
